MANAGING BY VALUES

Co-author Ken Blanchard reads a lengthy introduction in a warmly gruff tone. The reading then abruptly changes to a fictional account of a CEO's journey to implement managing by values. The transition to Mitchell Ryan's polished reading is jarring yet hypnotic. His smooth, singsong voice draws the listener into the CEO's plight, and we soon find we're sympathizing with his true feelings about change. Unfortunately, the attempt to relate this business topic to a fictional setting creates a somewhat predictable, contrived story.
