Gentle Southern sisters find suicide a suspicious explanation for the recent death of their newly acquired relative in Anne George's novel of genealogy gone awry. This story is filled with a flavorful blend of suspense and comedy. Ruth Ann Phimister gives each character a unique voice and doesn't miss a cue. She raises her pitch and changes her timbre in other ways for the many Southern sixty-something characters, both male and female. A highlight is her interpretation of the Julia Child-like character "Trinity." Phimister enhances George's resplendent characters, giving them a vivacity that makes this a highly entertaining whodunit. J.A.K. © AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/ NOV 01]
