NO HIDING PLACE

Wesley's fourth Tamara Hayle mystery looks at black youth gone bad in Newark, and their loving families' pain. Rebecca Nicholas breathes life into the story, with her lively, clear voice and diction, and her expert characterizations. Nicholas is totally believable as the first-person narrator, a former police officer who has opened a detective agency. She's equally compelling as a former drug addict and hooker, a vicious ex-cop, a whiny lawyer, and a sassy beautician. This is a "tape-turner" that will easily keep you awake on a long drive.
