QUANTUM

by | Read by Michael Kramer

Mystery & Suspense • 9 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2000

Techno-thriller fans will probably find this tale of industrial espionage and fantastic science to be a solid entry in the genre, though non-fans may label the story as somewhat formulaic. Michael Kramer delivers a sturdy reading, not making the story more or less than the author intended. Action scenes and plot developments are related with the right amount of immediacy and drama, and characters are given voice and personality with Kramer's usual intelligent craftsmanship. A notable aspect of the story is that even the good guys have some dark secrets, as well as less than genteel aspects to their personalities, all of which Kramer handily relates. Will the good guys or bad guys wrest control of an amazing new energy source? Author and reader do a capable job in making you care about the answer.
