MURDER AND MOONSHINE

This lighthearted American cozy amuses listeners while it delivers an incisive look at Southern hospitality. Narrator Erin Bennett pours character and charm into feisty, likable Daisy McGovern. She also finds unique pacing and tones for believable characters like gun-toting Aunt Emily, the moonshine brothers Rick and Bobby, ATF agent Ethan Kinney, and Daisy's co-workers Brenda and Hank at the H&P diner. Bennett delivers it all with enthusiasm, carefully differentiating the assorted female characters in particular. Romance and greed add to Miller's plot twists, and Bennett's acting skills work in perfect harmony. The surprising denouement of this impressive debut along with the excellent narrator makes the total package an entertaining performance.
