THE BUSINESS AND OTHER STORIES

These stories don't add up to a Jay McInerney novel, but they are appealing and have a touch of Fitzgerald magic. "The Business," the title story, is the weakest of the bunch. "Smoke," a bittersweet study for the wonderful novel BRIGHTNESS FALLS, is my favorite, and Joe Barrett's reading exactly matches how I imagine the interior voice of the author to sound.
