TRAIN TO DURANGO

by | Read by Jim Gough

Western • 6 hrs. • Abridged • © 1998

Actor and singer Jim Gough reads this Old West tale about the son of a gunfighter attempting to stop the theft of a gold shipment. Gough brings his native Texan accent to the production and a devil-may-care attitude to the story of cynical desperadoes. While this attitude is appropriate in dialogue, it is a little disconcerting in the narrative of events, and creates a tear in the fabric of reader identification. While the characters are more cliched than real, Gough holds them to their objectives. Minor sound effects complement a mostly interesting story.
