English audiences know this veteran comic actress for her sixty-year career, though Americans may know her solely from the popular TV import "Absolutely Fabulous." Her autobiography, which she reads with an amiable sparkle, may have a limited interest. Like almost all showbiz memoirs, it is precious, and filled with dropped names and anecdotes about the famous and near famous. Against the norm, it avoids gossip and scandal.
