Sometimes one just has to be in the right frame of mind. The listener abandoned this audio midway through the second tape. And then, more than a month later, without anything else to sample, the listener tried again from the beginning. This time the story, which starts with the search for a kidnapped youth by an Israeli ex-Special Forces operative, flowed smoothly with Guidall's narration. There's an appropriate undertone of a British accent when he plays the Israeli, and his portrayals of other international characters are wholly believable. As Guidall deftly unfolds the plot, the listener begins to appreciate his deliberate style and phrasing. FINAL JUDGMENT: a worthwhile sojourn with Guidall. A.L.H.
