If the packaging didn't tell you otherwise, you'd swear this was Andy Rooney challenging the golf gods. The voice, the intonation, the self-mocking wit seem identical; Bill Geist, however, is equally good reading his equally funny material. As "the last American male to take up golf," he provides his own ideas on technique, scoring, golf terms, etiquette, and dress with an enthusiasm that belies what he is actually saying. He wryly suggests that golf would be more exciting combined with polo or croquet. Or how about Survivor Golf? His descriptions of the (hopefully mythic) Goat Hill Club and the BGA (Bad Golfers Association) tournament will have pros and duffers alike chuckling. This would be a wonderful driving (the car kind) companion. J.B.G. © AudioFile 2001, Portland, Maine [Published: DEC/ JAN 02]
