PANDEMONIUM AT SCHOOL

Dullandon Primary School is a very correct place that runs to the exact standards of the headmaster's timetable. But when Miss Pandemonium arrives to take over a class, she throws out all of the rules, as well as the students' inhibitions and the headmaster's peaceful existence. Fans of other unconventional role models like Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle will enjoy this book, although the British idioms might be hard for younger children to understand. Judy Bennett's precise narration expresses Miss Pandemonium's carefree nature and the headmaster's increasing frustration clearly, allowing the situational humor full rein. B.F.
