THE LAKE QUILT MYSTERY Kelsey Riddle

Narrator Wendy Pitts aptly portrays Kelsey Riddle's disquiet when she arrives at Freedom Lake Resort and sees a girl being led away in what looks like a straightjacket. In short order, Kelsey notices things are not at all as they appear at the camp, and in her quilting class she learns that clues to what's going on are often sewn into quilts. Pitts deftly creates a feeling of unease as well as effectively presents the diverse accents of those who work at the resort. As Kelsey pieces together clues, she moves to free four girls who are being held prisoner before they're sent away.
