THE REQUIEM SHARK

The familiar voice of Patrick Tull spins out a realistic view of pirate life in the eighteenth century. The tale is downbeat, frequently sadistic, violent, and disgusting, but there are also moments of truth and insight, and always the vividly drawn ships and men and sea. How does Tull capture all these moods, panoramas, emotions, and action? Sometimes he's querulous. Sometimes he marvels. Sometimes he almost whispers.
