TWO O'CLOCK EASTERN WARTIME

by | Read by George Guidall

Mystery & Suspense • 17.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2001

The setting is a coastal New Jersey radio station trying to re-establish its status as the best station on the East Coast during WWII. The two central characters--man and a woman in love with each other--are operating under assumed names. Their mission is to discover the fate of the woman's vanished father, whose last message mentioned the station. Audie-winning narrator George Guidall keeps the large and diverse cast of characters separate and distinct. He also creates female voices that are much more believable than those of most male readers. Despite the length of the book, Guidall's pacing and realistic delivery keep the listener hooked, wanting to know what happens next. A mesmerizing listen. R.E.K.
