"The Prophet of the Space Age" has been a prolific author of sci-fi stories, and some of these are familiar to the modern listener, in particular "The Sentinel" from which the movie 2001 was derived, and "Guardian Angel," which formed the first part of CHILDHOOD'S END. One actor reads each of these stories and the performers are all highly regarded and skilled: Michael York, Samantha Eggar, Arte Johnson, John Rubenstein, and William Windom among them. Clarke is not a classic author for nothing, and this reviewer particularly enjoyed the humorous "Trouble with the Natives," in which aliens try their mightiest to make average humans believe they came from the stars.
