A VISION OF FIRE

An author narration is often more successful when the author, or one of them, is an actor. With this book, comparisons to actor/author Gillian Anderson's role as Agent Scully in the "The X-Files" are inevitable. Anderson tackles a range of international characters in this thriller about a strange phenomenon that has gripped the daughter of a woman who is involved in the negotiation of a crucial nuclear treaty. Other teens in various countries all over the world have been affected, as well. Anderson presents the main character, a child psychologist, as a thoughtful, methodical scientist who approaches each incident with a combination of empathy and detachment. She draws upon a store of accents as the psychologist travels to Haiti and Iran seeking answers to what's going on. J.E.M. [Published: JANUARY 2015]
