To what lengths will a person go to restore something of value, especially if the action brings prestige? This sci-fi novella delves deeply into this question, and narrator Melissa Epp's deep, mature voice and crisp enunciation make her a worthy match for the story's rich tapestry of detail. Epp has a wide expanse of voices, transforming from a haughty young woman to an assassin in a heartbeat. She takes it slow, teasing out the exacting descriptions of the fantasy world and unraveling the plot in a way that makes the listener hang on every word.
