If Jessica Fletcher of “Murder, She Wrote” really existed, she’d be writing for writer-producer Steven Oney and his Cape Cod Mystery Theater. The scripts benefit from Oney’s literate writing but suffer from it, too--the three stories are derivative and cliché-ridden. His direction is taut and suspenseful. Whatever the cast lacks in resonance and technique, they make up for in spirit and commitment. This is contemporary radio drama that sounds much like Golden Age radio drama--accessible and entertaining listening. Y.R.
