FRIENDS AND BROTHERS

by | Read by Stanley McGeagh

Children • 1 hr. • Unabridged • © 1987

In this short, humorous, chapter book, Charlie is often annoying, but when the chips are down, he and his older brother, William, can always put their differences aside--at least for a little while. Narrator Stanley McGeagh creates character voices for Charlie, Will, and their parents. McGeagh is an expressive reader with perfect pacing and inflection. The timbre of his aging voice, however, is not well suited for the effusive boys. Chapters are vignettes that can easily be enjoyed in single sittings. Though decidedly British in accent and attitude, the story highlights the universal nature of brotherly relations--a bit of fighting with an underpinning of love.
