RADICAL SONS A Generational Odyssey

by | Read by Jonathan Marosz

Biography & Memoir • 19.5 hrs. • Unabridged • © 1997

The author details his evolution from radical '60s Leftist to '90s arch-conservative. It's quite a story, given that he was a "red diaper baby" and a sympathizer of the Black Panthers. Jonathan Marosz narrates with a self-assured voice that sets a serious tone and allows the reader to fully understand Horowitz's political transformation. Marosz has an almost singsong rhythm that is not especially expressive but conveys a familiarity with the book. Once you get used to his cadence, the book almost reads itself. He also keeps the story moving with effective pauses and crystal clear diction. Marosz benefits by having good material; the book is a fascinating study of political and moral conversion. R.I.G.
