Quincy Jones reads his own account of rising from the slums to the pinnacle of fame and fortune in the entertainment business. In case you've been dead the last two dozen years, Jones is the African American delinquent from Chicago's South Side whose musical genius eventually placed him on all of Hollywood's "A" lists, and whose storied decency made him a much-loved mentor to celebrities such as Will Smith and Oprah Winfrey. His talents are not literary. He writes without distinction or insight and reads stiffly. Interspersed are passages written and read by his friends and family, glossing the thread of incident that Jones relates.
