THE FALL OF SAINTS

Mugure is a Kenyan Cinderella who is living the American dream in New York City. Her idyllic present falls apart when she discovers her husband is not who he seems. Robin Miles narrates the suspenseful journey into Mugure's past with a rhythmic lilt. Her narration includes slightly accented English, which is central to the credibility of Mugure's characterization. With a steady pace, Miles pulls together the many details of the past and present for the listener. This is a capable story, but the consistent tone and cadence of the narration blend together if listened to at length.
