In 2002, actor Paul Boehmer visited Nantucket. He was interested in the cultural history of the island and naturally visited the Whaling Museum and picked up a copy of MOBY-DICK . Little did Paul know that on his return to California, Dan Musselman at the Books on Tape studio had a new book waiting for him—Melville’s epic. Paul’s recording of MOBY-DICK was a 2003 Audie Finalist. Since beginning his audiobook work in 2000, Paul has lent his voice to a mix of nonfiction titles including Richard Preston’s treatise on smallpox, THE DEMON IN THE FREEZER , and the round-the-globe travel of ADVENTURE CAPITALIST by Jim Rogers. In this issue, listeners should note the compelling narration Paul gives to BETRAYAL: THE CRISIS IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH . Paul has created fine performances in Owen Parry’s Civil War fictions. Paul admits he relishes the chance to portray the appealing characters of Parry’s stories. Between books, Paul is active in regional theaters around the country, appearing this fall in Salt Lake City in an Agatha Christie classic.
