SHARPE'S TRAFALGAR Richard Sharpe and the Battle of Trafalgar, October 21, 1805

by | Read by Patrick Tull

Historical Fiction • 13.25 hrs. • Unabridged • © 2001

Ensign Richard Sharpe, fresh from a heroic victory in India, sails for home aboard the East Indian ship CALLIOPE. During the voyage, he falls in love with the captain's wife, kills the captain's secretary, is captured by the French, and transfers back to a British warship in time to participate in the Battle of Trafalgar, where his heroism grows yet again. Patrick Tull jumps into the story with a gravelly growl of a voice, full of enthusiasm and energy. His characters, heavily accented to the point of incomprehensibility at times, readily exchange their voices with one another throughout the book. The overperformance, however, cannot overcome the drama and realism of this historical fiction. R.P.L. (c) AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN/JUL 02]
