The atmospheric final battle between Spider-Man and Kraven the Hunter is dark and depressing but artfully transformed into a lively audiobook by the folks at GraphicAudio. Be warned, this is not a typically happy-go-lucky Spider-Man story; this is perhaps the grimmest Spider-Man story ever written. The voices of Spider-Man and Mary Janes are perfect, as are the other voices in the full cast. The only downside is Kraven himself, whose voice sounds over-the-top. The dialogue is laid over exciting sound effects: rainstorms, nasty rats, and battles in Manhattan sewers. But the producers need to work on the kissing scenes. Too much lip smacking!
