TALL, THIN AND BLONDE

Laurel Lefkow perfectly portrays high school freshman Jenny Kaliski's agonizing self-doubts and misery when Jenny's childhood best friend morphs into a blonde stranger with new clothes, new friends, new hairstyle, and no time to spend with her former best friend. Lefkow's ability to switch from shrill, snobbish cheerleader to eccentric social outcast allows listeners to follow a complex cast. Jenny is a fascinating character with a wry sense of humor that will endear her to listeners. Teens and their parents will enjoy this bittersweet story about one teen trying to remain true to herself and discovering the real meaning of friendship. E.J.F.
