VOICE FROM THE GRAVE

Dr. Fidelis Berlin, a Welsh psychiatrist and author living in London, inherits a modest house and a writing desk from a total stranger named Lesley Cameron. Odd. Odder still is that Cameron seems to have been murdered. In the desk she has left Fidelis a manuscript describing a past wrong that must be corrected. Or must it? Nothing in this intriguing and well-written mystery is quite as it appears. But one thing is certain: Penelope Freeman is a terrific narrator. Her warm, precisely enunciated voice is so inviting that it keeps you listening even when your ears are tired. And her characterizations are spot on--her voicing of Fidelis combines a musical Welsh lilt with the measured tones of a woman used to controlling her life.
