CONNECTICUT'S LITCHFIELD HILLS From Southbury to Litchfield via Woodbury, Mew Milford and Kent

Having driven through northwest Connecticut numerous times, I thought that I knew the area well. Then I popped Travelog·s Litchfield Hills tour into my car tape deck and learned what I had been missing. I discovered a delightful mix of serious and lighthearted history, museums, covered bridges, and antique shops. I·ve been to the oldest house in the Litchfield Hills. I’ve walked beside the meandering Housatonic River as I learned about its clean up in the 1970s. And I’ve spent a tad too much money in New Milford·s antiquarian bookstores. From the quiet introductory music to the clear narration and informed mix of stops, Travelog·s tour provided an unusually interesting and relaxing way to learn about part of New England. I·m now planning to work my way through the entire series. See you on the road. A.C.S. © AudioFile 2003, Portland, Maine [Published: JUN/JUL 03]
