Pam Lowder, a 12-year-old girl from Currituck, North Carolina, helped her father raise the best homing pigeons in the area. Now, in 1918, he is away with the doughboys in France, and she and Ma scrape by to make a living. One day a man with a German accent offers Pam an unbelievable amount for all of her pigeons. What is he up to? This delightful award-winning mystery is given a fine reading by Stina Nielsen.
