I MANAGED A MONSTER

With his strong entrepreneurial spirit, young Jordan's primary goal in life is to make money. His discovery of a purple monster on the golf course looks like the perfect opportunity, so Jordan becomes the monster's manager. But the creature, Andretti, has little understanding of what fame might entail, and his welfare becomes compromised as greed ensues. Fortunately, others keep an eye on Andretti's well-being. Brian Bowles handles the contending parties with facility. He is clipped and cold as Jordan, directive as the sporting goods agent, dismissive as friend Nathan, annoying and purposeful as the crusading Alice. As the action progresses from broadcasting studio to photo shoot to seaside estate, Bowles challenges the listener to consider the interplay of greed, loneliness, and compassion. A.R.
