TELL Love, Defiance, and the Military Trial at the Tipping Point for Gay Rights

Sometime a perfect plaintiff appears to challenge a law in a civil rights case, and Major Witt is an example of that phenomenon. This audiobook is the story of the defeat of "Don't ask, don't tell," which was the final effort to prevent gays and lesbians from serving in the U.S military. Witt's exemplary career served as the battleground. Because this memoir is written in the third person, narrator Donna Postel uses a less personal tone. Nonetheless, she conveys the highly personal nature of Witt's experience as well as essential elements in her successful challenge of the law. Especially poignant are Postel's portrayals of Witt's efforts to maintain her respect for the Air Force, her colleagues on her flight crew, and the military personnel served by her flight crew.
