PRETTY GOOD BITS FROM A PRAIRIE HOME COMPANION

by | Read by Garrison Keillor et al.

Humor • 1 hr. • Audio Program • © 2003

Garrison Keillor's warm, even-toned voice is familiar and welcoming to regular visitors of Lake Wobegon. This collection of "bits" showcases some of his best stories and the talents of other regular performers on the show. Keillor's delivery is never better than on his slow, thoughtful delivery of the "Pontoon Boat" anecdote. Sue Scott and Tim Russell also contribute with their earnest portrayals of Prairie Home characters in need of detective assistance. Fred Newman's remarkable ability to sound like anything from an engine to an exotic animal is also featured. Playful music from Guy's All-Star Shoe Band rounds out the jovial tone of this recording.
