HEAVEN'S ALL-STAR JAZZ BAND

Grandpa Jack is passionate about jazz. He knows the great musicians and their music so intimately that he can imagine himself as a member of their band. His instrument is a set of spoons, and he can sing and dance, as well. His grandson fondly imagines Grandpa Jack with angel's wings in the heavenly band. Myra Taylor narrates with the intimacy, urgency, and rhythm of a jazz devotee. She trips lightly from artist to artist on Grandpa's star list and uses pauses and syncopation to set the beat.
