The tale of Great-Aunt Matilda's guest appearance as a substitute teacher in Simon's fifth-grade class is charmingly read by Johnny Heller. Matilda fails to succumb to the class's efforts to "sink the sub." More astonishingly, her quirky personality and unprecedented philosophy about school rules leave the students speechless. Johnny Heller's cheerful voice, though definitely grown-up, has sufficient whimsy to present the perspective of an 11-year-old. Adults and children can chuckle together while enjoying this book.
