THE SERPENTS TRAIL

Sixty-three-year-old Maxie McNabb and her miniature dachshund, Stretch, travel to Grand Junction, Colorado, where they become involved in a mystery that takes Maxie on a hunt for hidden compartments in a Chipeta Avenue house. Henry's descriptions of western Colorado are full of authentic detail. Unfortunately, even though Lee Adams's reading is unobtrusive, allowing the story to ensnare the listener, her repeated mispronunciation of "Chipeta" (a name well known in western Colorado) and "Fruita" will be jarring to those who know the area.
