THE LOVE WIFE

Chinese-American Carnegie Wong and his distinctively American wife, Blondie, have three children: two daughters adopted from China and a biological son blonder than Blondie. Mixing Chinese beliefs with a distinctively American eye for making a buck, Carnegie's mother, Mama Wong, has her own ideas about her son's life choices. The colorfully tenacious matriarch is convinced that Blondie is an inappropriate wife, and so imports a Chinese nanny for the family. The six narrators present this well-written story seamlessly, allowing the listener to become immersed in its rich characters. Thanks to the Chinese speakers in the cast, this presentation is a joyful portrayal of the challenges experienced by contemporary American immigrants.
