ANDERSON'S ROUNDUP

Pleasant, low-key sound effects and appropriate music enhance the listening experience of this Western. Hub Anderson is falling in love with his Civil War buddy, James Harper's, girlfriend, Sarah Turner. J.D. Carrera adds authenticity and tension with his Texas drawl and carefully measured reading style. The various characters, such as Boone, the ex-slave from South Carolina, the crooked police captain, and Sarah's half-Comanche son are all portrayed with unique speech patterns and rhythms. Historical details as well as engaging sounds and vistas of the Old West will help listeners escape hurried lives for a time and enjoy the story and Carrera's leisurely paced delivery.
