Seven narrators give a collectively solid performance in this slow builder of an audiobook. Ten years ago, nine high school students survived an accident that killed several others. Now there are just seven still living, and they gather for their annual Outer Banks get-together. Then, one of the seven goes missing before a storm. Alex Allwine performs the chapters told from the point of view of Cassidy Bent. Allwine is generally expressive yet restrained; some might think she is occasionally too much so. Her pacing is excellent. The other narrators chime in with credible performances. They have a challenging task--a lot of people pop in and out of the story.
