Lucy Rivers and Teddy Hamilton narrate the complicated friends-to-lovers story of Bree and Sam. The two friends live in New York City following difficult childhoods in Ohio. Bree is an urban planner, while Sam writes comedy skits for a TV show. Hamilton's performance is the stronger one. He differentiates Bree and plays Sam's biting wit against his sweet affection for her, along with distinguishing Sam's colleagues. Rivers's flowing narration and lower register take a little getting used to. As Bree decides between her unrequited love for Sam and moving away for a dream job, Rivers steps up her performance to skillfully express Bree's mix of anger and devotion.
