John Hopkins returns to bring to life Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby and his team as they investigate the death of an unpopular resident of a quiet English village. As he does so, long hidden secrets of some of the villagers come to light. Hopkins's top-notch performance creates wonderfully likable characters in Barnaby and his sidekick, Troy. Hopkins uses his strong characterization skills to clearly differentiate the many characters, and he is equally strong with both male and female characters. In particular, his voicing of Troy as he strives to shine on his team achieves just the right balance of pathos and humor.
