Jane Oppenheimer's challenge in narrating this audiobook is to capture emotions that range from utter frustration to seething anger. All those feelings fuel protagonist Daphne Gauge, who frantically seeks the truth about what happened to missing boys from her hometown. As the story unfolds and Daphne deals with her past and present, Oppenheimer shifts between vengeful bullies and recounting Daphne's mission. In addition, she is especially creative with Daphne's impatient mother. The audiobook is intended for those who like fantastical storylines with demonic forces at play.
