Megan is a mesmerizing tough-as-nails whiskey-drinking repo woman, who has returned to Missoula, Montana, looking for a fairy tale ending to the violent scandal that ruined her family. Betty Bobbitt's raspy voice couldn't be more perfect for the story of this complex protagonist. Often Bobbitt's first-person narration sounds like the sulfur tip of a match drawn across a grainy flint. Her Russian accent for secondary characters sounds delightfully straight out of old movies on the Cold War. When her voice quivers as she recounts temps at 19 degrees below zero and wet blue jeans iced to stiff boards, the realism just might cause an instant chill. This audiobook is pure delight! K.A.T.
