Nancy Wu, who narrates this first-person story of Maximum Ride, the leader of the flock of bioengineered human/bird kids, is outstanding in characterizing both the wisecracking, self-deprecating humor of Max, as well as each of the other children. James Jenner personifies Ari, the eraser experiment gone mad who stalks Max and her flock across the East Coast in an effort to bring them back to the lab.
