CHASING THE DEAD

Susan Young is on her way home to Boston when she receives a phone call from a man who has kidnapped her young daughter. The kidnapper directs Susan on a nightmare trip through New England on which she encounters supernatural events of a bloody past. When Susan gets angry with her daughter's abductor, narrator Renée Raudman's voice takes on a hard edge. The kidnapper's voice is suitably threatening. For the most part, Raudman's uninflected interpretation lets the horror elements and plot twists of the story provide the suspense.
