In this entry in the pleasant British series about police inspector Alan Markby and his companion, Meredith Mitchell, a corpse buried illegally in a graveyard turns out to be a girl who vanished 12 years before. While Markby begins his investigation, Mitchell pokes about and, as usual, discovers almost as much as the coppers. Judith Boyd, who has narrated several of Granger's series, reads at an easy pace. She offers interesting interpretations of several of the major characters. Admittedly, conversations that involve many voices can be hard to follow, and I wish her interpretation of overbearing men didn't sound like a caterwaul; it's painful to the ears. Otherwise, a serviceable performance. A.C.S. © AudioFile 2006, Portland, Maine [Published: OCT/ NOV 06]
