SICK OF SHADOWS

Beautiful, wealthy, bored Lady Rose Summer takes on the cause of poor Dolly Tremaine, who seeks a society marriage. Things take a tragic turn when Dolly is murdered. The "Golden Voice" of Davina Porter does its usual splendid job enlivening an array of eccentric characters. Chesney makes some poignant remarks about the rich and poor of the Edwardian era (and today). As Rose and her fiancé sort though myriad clues and possible culprits, Porter enlivens an unforgettable scoundrel, saucy Daisy (Rose's companion), the gay men who "make up the numbers" for desperate hostesses, and Rose's interfering parents.
