THE HOUSE OF GREEN TURF

by | Read by Simon Prebble

Mystery & Suspense • 7.25 hrs. • Unabridged • ©

The beautiful, famous and unattached diva, Maggie Tressider, is convinced she has unwittingly killed someone who is now haunting her. Private Investigator Frances Killian, hired by Maggie to find the ghost, finds much more. Simon Prebble's narration is quiet and understated (Senza sentimento), in keeping with the main characters. The story is filled with musical allusions, which Prebble reads easily so that listeners unfamiliar with the terms will understand them in the context of the story. The slight German accent he uses to delineate several characters seems natural (Sempre simplicita), and his reading of the poetic texts in German is graceful and fluent (Allegro ma grazioso). Bravo! Encore! L.R.S. ©AudioFile, Portland, Maine [Published: NOV 94]
