THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS

Sir Michael Hordern delivers a delightful performance of Grahame's classic tale of life on the water in England. Sweet Mole, suave and charming Rattie, bumbling Toad, and wise, gruff, old Badger spring to life in Hordern's capable voice. Each character has its own distinct and entirely appropriate voice, and Hordern is suitably animated as the action unfolds. Hordern clearly relishes the clever writing in this children's classic, and his amusement is warmly passed along to the listener. Thanks to Grahame and Hordern, one can feel the fresh spring air by the river, sit in the passenger seat as Mr. Toad takes a wild ride, and cheer for the characters as they come to Toad's rescue.
