WHERE ARE MY SLIPPERS? A Book of Colors

Young children will enjoy learning their colors while joining in the search for a lost pair of slippers. Keli'i Kaneali'i, a native musician of Oahu, offers a gentle, patiently paced narration that allows children to easily follow along, matching the rhymes on each page with the book's colorful, engaging watercolor illustrations: "I lost my slippers at the zoo,/My favorite slippers, which are blue . . ." Quiet guitar music provides a soothing background to the story while occasional zoo-animal sound effects add touches of humor. After the story, Kaneali'i invites young listeners to say the colors in Hawaiian before singing them in verses.
