The fourth in a five-volume series on spiritual theology addresses the importance of perceiving the language in the Bible as everyday language—not as lofty, formal "God" language. Peterson, best known for THE MESSAGE, a contemporary translation of the Bible, dissects the language Jesus uses in his parables and attempts to dispel the notion that we speak of and to God one way, and to each other in a different way. Grover Gardner's narration is as straightforward, friendly, and down-to-earth as the author's prose. He captures Peterson's spirit of informality while authoritatively delivering Peterson's insights and revelations. Gardner occasionally interrupts the comfortable flow of the prose to read the sometimes-lengthy footnotes, which is unfortunate, but, overall, the narration fits the author's message well.
